Orion House

Welcome to the Orion House, Joshua Tree getaway! This is a perfect place to relax, enjoy the peace, tranquility of the desert and stunning night skies. Orion house is tucked away on few acres of very private property with mountain views. It is about twelve miles from the town center and a few extra to the park entrance. It features 6 bedrooms and two baths. The home comfortably accommodate 12, and is great for small or larger groups of friends or big families for weekend or longer escapes from the city, celebrations or get-togethers.

The space

This is a 3000 sqf two story house with six separate bedrooms for added privacy and comfort. Master bedroom with king size bed, four bedrooms with queen size beds and one bedroom with two twin beds. Big wrap around balcony is great for evening relaxation, watching meteor showers, stars and admiring the clarity of the milky way.

WiFi

Orion House has high speed WiFi internet covering the whole house and backyard. In upstairs livingroom is 60″ smart TV with Roku Ultra, blue ray and DVD player and plenty of DVDs to choose from. Downstairs family room has 50″ Smart Roku TV and DVD/VHS player and plenty of kid’s movies on VHS tapes. Both TVs have access to Plex media server with great amount of latest action movies and huge music library.
If you forgot to bring your phone’s charger, there is a fast charging stations in the dining area next to the stereo where you can plug up to six devices .

Backyard

Our Joshua Tree vacation rental house has a large concrete patio in the back with picnic tables and extra patio chairs. In the front yard is a gazebo bar with a propane BBQ grill. The propane tanks are provided. Please clean the grill after you use it for the next guests.

Fire Pit

Backyard has a large fire pit if you like to roast sausages or marshmallows or just have a beer by the fire. Please be reasonable with the size of the fire you are making. You are in the desert after all, where everything loves to burn really fast. You need to bring your own firewood.

Kitchen

Orion’s House large kitchen is fully equipped with pots and pans for our ultra fast indusction cooktop,  lots of plates of all sizes, glasses and cups, non-stick frying pans, baking sheets and baking and cooking glass-ware. And of course  microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster, electric ketle, French coffee press if you like it, hand-held electric mixer, etc. I believe there is just about anything in the kitchen you may need for a large group of people. Just in case you would feel like you need to bring some of yours pots or pans for cooking, please note that there is a  induction type cooktop in the kitchen which requires ferrous metal pots to work. Aluminum alloy pots will not work.

Guest access

The property is about 12 miles from Joshua Tree downtown and about 20 miles from the Park entrance. Please be aware that to get to the property you will have to drive about two and half miles on a dirt road which gets often bumpy. It is okay to drive a normal two-wheel drive sedan car without issues, you will just need to go slow.

The house entrance has a smart lock installed and we will send you your unique door code for easy self-check in. During your stay the house is pretty much yours to use and explore, the kitchen, dining areas, downstairs and upstairs living rooms, balcony, patio and the backyard. There are six bedrooms available and ready to be used, but, if you are a small group, please leave the bedrooms you don’t need undisturbed to keep your cleaning fee down. There is plenty of space on the property for multiple vehicles in the front yard. 

We have two security cameras to oversee the front yard and the back yard for security reasons and to prevent vandalism and burglars.  There are NO cameras in the house.

Other things to note

Please note that the listed base price is for maximum of four people, every additional person over the number of four is $20 per night, so please always enter the correct number of guests in your reservation. Do not make intentionally reservation for incorrect number of guests, since every undisclosed guest will be charged $50 per night

Directions

Since we are living in the desert, the roads around here are not marked very well, mostly not at all. On top of that Google maps doesn’t place street addresses always correctly so if you follow directions on your phone’s Google maps you will end up miles away from the property.
We are sending GPS coordinates and detailed instructions how to get to the property to all guests with reservation about 5-7 days before their arrival. We will be sending you these directions via email and phone text to ensure you receive these information on time.
